Miss Thrifty's January 2016 Net Worth
At the beginning of the year, Miss Thrifty and Mr. Spendy made a pact to improve their financial situations. Hard core number crunching and budget comprising were just what the doctor ordered!
In January, I was able to bank 41% of my paycheck to allocate toward savings and student loans. As the year progresses, I hope to get that number to 50% or more (that is to say, live on less than half of my paycheck).
Some of you may be wondering -- why such transparency? Well, because I think that you shouldn't have to be a millionaire to feel comfortable sharing with the world your financial situation. Sure, my net worth is laughable to some. But to me? It's a source of growing pride.
Just three years ago (January 2013), my net worth was -$24,971.46 (thanks, student loans). I'd say that's humble progress.
Goals for 2016: Go beast mode on student loans! (This month I paid only $100 more than my minimum payment).
